Happy spring everyone 🙂 Going into this new season I will be expanding my posts on the topics of skincare and travel. I’ll be including more detailed product reviews and experiences as well as creating city guide travel posts. (This will be in addition to fashion content of course). I am excited to share my point of view regarding skin care and my passion for finding the best restaurants, activities and shops when I travel.
For my first in depth skincare post I’m focusing on masks. Specifically, the aesthetically pleasing instagram hit Summer Fridays, KNC beauty, and Sephora cult fave LANEIGE masks. Each of these are for a different part of the face: skin, eyes, lips…there are masks for all, these days. First up, for the face: Summer Fridays Jet Lag, Overtime and R+R masks. My faves of these three are Overtime and R+R. Despite its claim as a deep hydrator I found Jet Lag to be a bit drying. While Summer Fridays is a ‘clean beauty’ brand and all of their masks are formulated without parabens, sulfates, dyes or fragrance, Jet Lag does contain PEGs which are potentially harsh chemicals that absorb oil and I would therefore attribute to the drying effect Jet Lag had on me. So for a super hydrating mask I use True Botanicals Moister Lock Overnight Mask. As for the other two Summer Fridays masks, I’m hooked. Overtime is PEG free and I’ve found it to have a lovely brightening effect. R+R creates a lovely glow by delivering lots of good fats and antioxidants to the skin.
I love these little KNC Beauty Retinol-Infused Eye Masks! In addition to being adorable shooting stars they are clean and safe, containing only 6 (powerful) ingredients including retinol, hyaluronic acid and licorice root extract. I also use KNCs lip masks when I’m not using LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask. A true life saver in the winter, applying this mask at night guarantees softer, hydrated lips in the morning. Happy masking!
